Hire Dynamics is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Transportation Coordinator job in Wake Forest, NC. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity. As a Transportation Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating & optimizing the transportation of finished good order boxes from our distribution center to our end consumers and arranging pickups from our suppliers / vendors to our distribution center. Responsibilities for this Transportation Coordinator job include:

 

  • Act as liaison between the different departments and work closely with carriers to identify delivery exceptions and manage/solve issues.

  • Help monitor shipments for inbound/outbound materials and for last mile to end-customer. Identify possible delays and communicate with all relevant functions.

  • Work closely with the outbound team/managers to ensure shipping systems are used properly and team is trained and follows the right processes.

  • Manage KPI tracking for logistics carriers and work with manager to meet logistics targets.

  • Process all Transportation invoices for timely payment which includes coding, tracking and receipting in SAP. Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly invoice auditing to ensure accuracy.

  • Schedule daily freight pickups and drop-off and notify carriers of daily outgoing to Canada shops and ecommerce.

  • Schedule with 3rd party wholesale vendors to meet requirements and deadlines.

  • Perform administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping of finished goods and communicate with carriers and vendors.

  • Coordinate weekly delivery and bill of lading for Alaska & Hawaii retail stores.

  • Provide backup support and coverage to the transportation team as requested per business needs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Responsible for maintaining ethical standards including minimizing the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace. Report potential risks, near misses and real accidents to relevant managers.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years relevant Distribution/Logistics experience

  • High School/GED or Vocational School Diploma

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (SAP preferred)

  • A numbers-driven self-starter with a bias for action and focus on results

  • High proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables and vlookup and other computer skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills required

  • Detail oriented and attention to accuracy

  • Able to work independently and use critical thinking to solve problems and find solutions as needed

 

*Compensation: $40,000 annually
