Job Description


 The Hire Dynamics Marietta location has a Direct Hire opportunity for a client located near the Cumberland Mall.  The position is for a Senior Systems Administrator role.  They are seeking someone with at least seven years of industry experience.

 

In this role, you would be responsible for procuring, auditing, deploying, configuring, supporting, monitoring and maintaining all company computer systems (including underlying operating systems), networking equipment, cloud hosted platforms, and software. He/she documents processes, technical configurations, and instructions for both IT department employees and end users.  The Sr. Systems Administrator oversees the company’s help desk, which involves managing a direct report whom assists him/her in supporting the organization.  The Sr. Systems Administrator is also a key stakeholder in the company’s InfoSec team, and is expected to draft, consult, implement, and audit company policies to ensure the security of company assets.  He/she works with employees from all departments, has well-developed communication skills and is comfortable presenting in front of an audience. The Sr. Systems Administrator actively engages in research, investigates, and recommends newer technologies that would benefit the company.

 

Your duties would be:

 

1.      Supporting the organization through helpdesk tickets, HR requests, management of the IT Support Specialist, departmental projects as laid out by the VP IT, or assists team members with their assigned projects as they involve company infrastructure or software

 

2.      Monitoring and ensuring company servers, software, networks, backups, printers, phone systems, and related processes are running nominally. This includes the creation of backups, snapshots, monitoring and controlling the general health of all servers (virtual, file, domain, services such as DNS, DHCP, WINS), Mobile Device and Application Management, and other technologies

 

3.      Working on InfoSec initiatives, including auditing existing policies, drafting new policies, researching best practices or investigating new technologies

 

4.      Creating or updating documentation regarding infrastructure configuration, departmental processes, and end-user instruction over company technology

 

5.      Deploying and/or modifying configurations for Windows, Mac, Server, phone system, and cloud-hosted systems as directed by VP IT, InfoSec, HR, Legal, or departmental needs.  This includes creating and updating PowerShell scripts, updating group policy, creating/modifying user accounts or groups, securing resources, and installing/updating software or services

 

6.      Developing, modifying, and/or analyzing reports detailing the overall function and security of the company’s technology resources (domain controllers, cloud hosted systems, firewalls, networks, user access, etc.) and providing feedback to VP of IT and InfoSec on issues or recommendations

 

7.      Managing IT Support Specialist by generating SOPs for regular job functions; Providing regular feedback to VP of IT on staff performance, current projects, and related initiatives

 

8.      Documenting and maintaining an up to date inventory of computer software and hardware assets

 

9.      Planning for new employee hardware and software needs

 

10.  Working with outside vendors to manage procurement of hardware, software and services to the organization.  Coordinating with VP IT to ensure approval, budget, and contract negotiation/approval are obtained prior to moving forward

 

11.  Researching and providing recommendations to VP of IT and department on areas to improve operational efficiency, security, or reliability of corporate infrastructure

 

12.  Managing and maintaining corporate network antivirus and encryption requirements
