Hire Dynamics is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Print Technician job in Greenville, SC. This is a temporary opportunity. As a Print Technician you will be responsible to make ready, operate, and adjust digital press to maintain required quality and quantity of production. Write software profiles, troubleshoot equipment problems and repair digital printing equipment as required.
Responsibilities for this Print Technician job include:
Verifies size, color, and type of material and color of ink from job order. Cleans inking rolls with solvent, using protective gloves.
Pour ink into reservoirs, troughs, hopper or color holders of printing units, making measurements and adjustments to control color and viscosity.
Inspects product regularly during press run and adjusts settings and ink viscosity, or shuts down press and makes adjustments.
Inspect and examine digitally printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
Set and adjust speed, temperature, ink flow and positions and pressure tolerances of equipment.
Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, productions times, stock specifications, colors and color sequences
Monitor feeding, printing, and racking processes of presses in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions while making any necessary adjustments.
Load, position and adjust unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeling mechanisms.
Troubleshoots quality problems and finds answers, or seeks help from supervisor.
Makes repairs on equipment, replacing worn or damaged parts. Complete minor and major repairs and overhauls when possible or assist manufacturer’s technical support.
Keeps count of completed product on each run, while recording and disposing of spoilage.
Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunction or poor quality raw material.
Calibrate digital equipment and write software profiles.
Must have ability to navigate through a hard drive directory and understand file extensions.
Depending on production requirements for the shift, may require overtime and may be required to work in other part of the plant if needed.
Ability to use software and plotters to cut, weed, mask and apply vinyl and films.
Complete necessary training and all refresher training necessary to be a certified repair technician for applicable printing equipment.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have 2-3 years’ experience working with a digital printer, preferably a Durst printer.
Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
If needed, willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays and/or weekends.
Proven mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and write sufficiently to follow work-order instructions, read equipment manuals and prepare production reports.
Ability to work independently while utilizing problem solving, time management and organizational skills
